It just doesn’t seem fair in our society that claims that everyone is equal before the law, that good-looking people have a better advantage at work for higher pay and faster advancement than all of us average-looking people or, in your case, just above. average. Okay, let’s discuss all of this and consider what’s going on here, because maybe the charge of discrimination is less than accurate.

There was an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal on September 1, 2012 titled; “Pretty, Good Performance,” which discussed a research study that claimed the old belief that more attractive people advance faster in their careers was statistically proven; however, as a caveat, the study also showed that, statistically, they were also better qualified and performed better on tests. Now how can this be? How can the better looking ones be better than the average looking ones?

Well I have some ideas as to why this might be. First of all, if you’re handsome, everyone is looking at you all the time, so if you don’t act, they’ll notice and you’ll know they’re looking at you because you can feel it and see it. Therefore, you should always be doing your best in the workplace. Since those who care about their appearance work to maintain their image of respect and care, they also work to act for the same reasons: it’s one of their personality traits.

Next, those who appear to be more handsome often appear this way as the human mind likes symmetry. Those that are more symmetrical are often judged to be more beautiful when viewing images side by side in preference tests. Those who are more symmetric may also have a better mix of gene sets, therefore may also benefit from better levels of intelligence in the brain because of that.

Lastly, those who are more handsome are more socially conditioned and read people better, which also gives them a boost to work with others, which helps performance at work and gets others to work with them when they are working on the job. groups or delegating.

Now, if someone isn’t handsome, or looks perhaps less than average, they may not be expected to do well, and no one can look at them to see that they are, so they don’t need to perform well. optimally or bother. to impress anyone. Do you see that point? So maybe this is a nurturing issue, which maybe started as a nature issue? Consider all of this and think about it and maybe you should include a picture with your resume.
