Have you ever dreamed of escaping to Southern California? Your only problem will be due to the large number of locations to choose from. The fact that there are no residency requirements or waiting periods before receiving your marriage license makes your elopement that much more stress-free!

Whether you want to put your toes in the sand or in Sleeping Beauty’s castle when reciting your vows, Southern California is sure to have an ideal place for you to elope.

Disneyland: Yes, believe it or not, the Magic Kingdom is a very popular place to exchange vows. Filled with stunning gardens and of course Sleeping Beauty’s castle, Disneyland is the location for your fairytale wedding. Three of the most popular venues include Wedding Garden at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort, Sunset Gazebo at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and Rose Court Garden at Disneyland Hotel. All of this, however, will require some planning. If you want to elope at Sleeping Beauty’s castle, for example, you’ll need to call Disneyland fairytale weddings about a year in advance.

Southern California Beach Weddings: Southern California has a treasure trove of beach towns. There are smaller places like La Jolla and Malibu. Then there are the larger communities and beaches in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, just to name a few. All of these settings are ideal for a getaway with a little planning or a casual, spontaneous kind of service. Just make sure you approve your plans with California state parks and have the necessary permits.

La Jolla: La Jolla Cove claims to be the most photographed beach in Southern California. It is located 15 minutes north of downtown San Diego and offers soft sand beaches, year-round sunshine, and the watercolor sunsets of the Pacific Ocean. Another La Jolla beach is La Jolla Shores, a mile-long sandy beach near a residential area. You will need a permit to elope on a public beach according to the City of La Jolla.

Malibu Lagoon State Beach: The escape spots here feature gardens, wetlands, and sandy beaches. This is where Malibu Creek meets the ocean. You can elope on the beach or at the Adamson House, which is a designated National Historic Site and a registered California monument. It is visible from most areas of the beach and is located on the shoreline at Malibu Lagoon State Beach. The home and its grounds share one of the most stunning beach locations in Southern California, where you can see the Malibu Lagoon, Malibu Beach, and the Malibu Pier.

Hollywood: If you want to feel like a true celebrity, Hollywood is the place to escape. The Studios at Paramount is much more than a place where historical movies and television shows are made. Build your event using many of the same resources that blockbuster production uses. This includes the New York Street rear parking lot, lavish, state-of-the-art outdoor performing spaces and theaters, as well as any staging, rental or entertainment reservations you might want.

The above are just a sample of the many splendid elopement places in Southern California. Remember, if your dream weddings are at Disney, you will need to reserve your choice at least a year in advance. The getaways in So Cal are so numerous that only a sampling of the best getaways can mention me in a read!
