I recently had the pleasure of reading a great science fiction novel, the following is a review of the book.

Posing an intellectual convergence of science fiction, facts, and possibilities, John L Clemmer’s The Way of The Dhin offers their futuristic tale of the sovereignty of AI, extraterrestrial contact, and the mystery of the technology they left behind.

During a time of revelation and confusion on earth, AI grew to the point of hive-minded singularity, ruling much of what humans once accomplished on their own. By virtue of its governance, the need for manual labor was significantly reduced with AI providing everything for its human burdens; food, water, shelter, energy and transportation, facilitating the existence of human beings. However, hot spots of rebellion emerged, as many humans did not fully trust the AI’s intentions and sought to somehow overthrow its advanced existence.

In addition, the first contact with a mysterious alien race, the Dhin occurs. The Dhin leave after their sudden disappearance, an apparent gift of technological wonder, but due to failed communications with humans, obtaining instructions for the use of the device was a daunting and complicated task as the technology defied all laws. known and the logic of physics on earth.

Thus, the gift of wonderful Dhin technology leaves various factions on earth vying for control, proper understanding and use of the Dhin engine, each with their own agendas for potential applications of the poorly understood engine. While some sought to assemble the engine, others sought to use it to help humanity.

Well worth reading, The Way of the Dhin features a cleverly interpreted narrative that I found completely enjoyable. Author John L. Clemmer employs a genuinely rich storytelling style that is presented as articulate, inventive, and fully readable. The story, though steadily paced, featured an engaging complexity of enigmatic plot lines that were successfully and sensibly crossed, completely facilitating active participation throughout the book. In particular, I enjoyed the way the story alternated between different perspectives as events unfolded within the story; the reader, in essence, learns of the ongoing machinations within each faction. I especially enjoyed the interludes with the artificial intelligence. He also cleverly applied a perspective to drones, which I found completely fascinating. Overall, this was an entertaining story that left my mind in a daze with questions about the future of humanity, in particular when it comes to the advancement of artificial intelligence, which made this a remarkable read for me.
