1. The Law of Attraction is based on Spiritual Beliefs and is only suitable for people with a Spiritual background.

Many people who learn to use the Law of Attraction in their lives come from a spiritual background and call upon the Universe, God, Angels, or other beings. However, having spiritual or religious beliefs is by no means a prerequisite for using the Law of Attraction to make your dreams come true. I believe the Creation Process should be as universally appealing as possible so that everyone can tap into the flow of creative power. This creative power is built into all human beings and we need to be tapped on the shoulder and reminded that we have it. Spiritual people can see this as a spiritual process, where the deity of their choice is guiding them. A logical person may see this as a psychological process, whereby he learns to harness the power of his subconscious through positive affirmation and visualization. The scientist can see this as a scientific process by which we attract positive or negative energy like a magnet. As long as you have faith in the process, no matter what your experience, everyone will get the same great results!

2. You must consume many different books, CDs and DVDs to learn the creation process.

There is a wealth of material available on the Law of Attraction, and each new post promises to reveal something deeper and deeper about the process. However, this only serves to confuse people as to which is the most effective or ‘correct’ method. In turn, this confusion creates stress and panic, which draws more confusion, stress, and panic into other areas of their lives. What we have identified is that there are basic principles that are easy to apply. When this process is followed, the only possible outcome is the manifestation of your vision!

3. You need to stay in a place of permanent joy for the Law of Attraction to work in your favor.

Joy is an absolutely blissful state of being, but even people who have undertaken a lot of self-improvement work will find it difficult to maintain this state consistently. The myth that one needs to stay in a place of joy in order to manifest visions of it into reality can be a huge stumbling block for some. It’s obvious why: you create your goal, and then you’re told you need to keep your emotions in a place of permanent joy. Then, because you can’t, you start to feel inadequate, stressed and in a panic once again. Then, before you know it, you’ll either have completely forgotten about the Law of Attraction, or you’ll have dismissed it as a failed experiment. It’s true that the higher your emotional vibrations, the faster your goals will manifest, but sometimes, with the pressures of the world around us, we’re going to feel less than joyful no matter how many affirmations you repeat. During the toughest of times, if you can continue to stay aligned with your vision and stay in a place of positivity, then you’re still doing everything you need to do to make it a reality. If there are times when you can’t do this, it’s better to just be aware of your feelings and not resist them, as what you resist persists. Just make sure to proactively do things that bring you happiness to start getting your frame of mind back towards positivity and joy.

4. You need to learn to meditate for the process to be effective.

Meditation can be an extremely beneficial component in the Creation Process, as it allows you to not only take time to relax for yourself, but also to quiet your thoughts to make way for your inner guidance to be heard. Many Law of Attraction teachers recommend setting aside at least 15 minutes per day to focus on meditation and visualization, but what if you find it too challenging? Personally, I find sticking to regular meditation a real challenge: I am a very energetic, activity-focused person, and usually when I sit down and get into a state of deep relaxation, I usually fall asleep! At first this worried me, but over time I realized that my body, mind, and spirit will tell me what they need, so I don’t need to push myself. Instead, when I have the need to meditate, I do it and usually enjoy it immensely. Otherwise, I like to make time for myself in other ways, like a warm bath, curling up with a good book, or taking a walk outside. It is vital that you take some relaxation time for yourself, as it refreshes you and lifts your mood (steadily pointing you in the right direction for the manifestation of your goals), but you must engage in activities that bring you joy, not what others stipulate . Enjoy!

5. To receive guidance from the Universe, you must cleanse yourself by giving up coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, sugar, or become a vegetarian.

Well, if this were the case, then we wouldn’t have even heard of the Law of Attraction, let alone mastered it! Seriously though, there is a school of thought that in order to receive guidance from the Universe and make the Law of Attraction work, you must cleanse yourself internally with a strict detox. I totally agree that a healthy person is a happy person and that we should treat our bodies with the utmost respect, but that deprivation will only lower our mood, not raise it. If eating meat, having coffee in the morning or a glass of wine with dinner brings you happiness, then you can be sure that your consumption of these things will not affect the Creation Process. Some people feel better when they give up coffee or alcohol, if that’s you, go for it! But if you’re not experiencing ill effects (and studies show that small amounts of alcohol and caffeine can be beneficial for mental and physical well-being), then enjoy life! A vital part of the Creation Process is to keep your emotions as high as possible and your resistance as low as possible, so enjoy the things that make you happy, guilt free!

6. Using the Law of Attraction in my life means that I will lose control.

We, the teachers of the Law of Attraction, tell you to clarify your desires and then release them and surrender them to the Universe. Anything in your life that is contradictory to your desires (for example, being in debt when you want to create abundance), we teach you to give it as little concern and attention as possible. But what if giving in to the Law of Attraction makes us feel like we’re giving up control of our lives? Every time we make life changes (and some of the work we do to remove limiting beliefs can mean big attitude changes for our clients), the old will always try to assert itself before it is gone forever. You can tell a seasoned practitioner of the Law of Attraction by their cool detachment from his desires. It’s not because they don’t care, but because they trust the Universe to deliver. You always do. Walk with faith and trust (even if you have to continually ask for more faith at first) and this feeling of losing control will soon pass.

In conclusion, if you take anything from reading this article it is DO WHAT FEELS GOOD TO YOU! There is a wealth of information available on the subject of the Law of Attraction; one part will resonate with you and another will not. The trick is to practice what makes you happy and not be mindful of what gets you into the negative emotional spectrum, as the Universe can deliver much more easily to someone who is open and happy than to someone who is pressured and anxious.
