Our existence is a pretty good deal in a pretty big place, and with that being such, there are a myriad of different energy options we can look to as a species. When it comes to energy, there isn’t really a right or wrong way, just a bunch of different ways. We have compiled a detailed list of alternative energy sources to give our readers a better understanding of all the different types of power generation options currently available to us.
Some of these alternative energy sources you may have already heard of and some will blow your mind. For example, you know all too well about oil and how we get energy from it, but did you know that we can actually get energy from the sun, algae, hydrogen, physical energy, and more?

In no specific order, so as not to go over the current options that we might pursue in our search for Alternative Energy to replace or supplement oil as our primary source of energy. Starting with the one we all know:
Petroleum Power Generation
Oil is a fossil fuel that exists naturally within the Earth itself. From oil found in underground pools to microfragments trapped in rocks and sand; Petroleum power generation has gripped man since the dawn of the 20th century and will likely continue to grip us into the 21st!

Coal-fired power production is the next of the different power options we are going to cover and is a commonly known source of power generation; however, due to the universally painted negative image of coal mining, many are very reluctant to continue coal mining. Coal mines of the past used to create considerable environmental damage and once mining was complete the mined landscape was ‘altered’ forever. However, with new and cutting-edge clean coal technology, that dirty coal image may soon be a thing of the past.

This is a clear cut for our Alternative Energy Sources List and it is what its name implies: Hydroelectric Power Production. Imagine being able to get the vast majority of our energy requirements from water the old-fashioned way! Well, it’s possible, and scientists are hard at work developing a realistic and sustainable way to harness the natural energy of water manipulation and movement. Sounds futuristic I know, but wait because the future is going to be really futuristic!

Now, of all the different energy options, many would say that this seems to be President Obama’s pet project. Did you know that it is actually possible to harness the natural cycle of photosynthesis and turn it into energy that we can use? We can really do this right now. However, the problem with algae power generation is the amount of land required to create “algae farms” large enough to affect our oil imports and, furthermore, there are problems with the refining process and the effects on long-term that its large-scale cultivation can have on the environment. whole.
Hydrogen power generation
To the moon and back would say Newt Gingrich! Of all the different energy options, hydrogen is the most abundant resource in the known universe. That’s right, if man were ever to travel to the stars one day, it’s quite possible that the fuel we use to power our space engines is in fact derived from hydrogen power generation. From moons to asteroids and from planets to comets; Hydrogen can be found almost anywhere in the universe in large and vast quantities. The problem lies in refining it. We can refine things, the problem is fiscally refine them, but when we figure out an economically sound way to introduce hydrogen fuel to the masses, it’s going to get really spacey around here!
Fusion Power Generation
Fusion Power Generation is good, but it’s also one of the most dangerous on our Alternative Power Sources List. Large amounts of energy can be harnessed through the fusion process; however, there are great risks involved with the actual production of such energy. Fusion works by taking two particles and making them both go as fast as possible in opposite directions and then at full speed; crushing them together. It’s this collision that creates a type of energy that we could then harness for our energy need, but with that energy it also provides a huge risk of a containment breach. Once man masters fusion, who knows, maybe hydrogen will be a thing of the past.

Now this is one of several different power options that kind of bugs us just because we should already have this type of power generation widely available in our world today and we don’t. Physical power is really no different than any other power and can be harnessed to power almost anything. The more you “move”, the more human energy production can be generated and harnessed. Natural Gas Power Production
Natural gas power production is good for our Alternative Energy Sources List and is actually being used today on a large scale. A sizable portion of the United States is without natural gas power and even more tomorrow. Natural gas is actually a fairly safe way to generate power, the risk comes into play in your susceptibility to accidents. Natural gas is flammable, of course, but because the gas is stored and smelled through underground pipes, if an explosion occurs in any residential or commercial building, there is a chance that an entire block or building could be destroyed or exploded. more in case of accident. occur. Solar power generation is derived from harnessing the natural rays of the sun and converting it into usable electricity. Powering things through solar energy is actually doable; however, as with any of the different power options, there are problems. The biggest problem with solar power is that we simply can’t power any sizable application for any measurable duration. Which means that when we transfer the power we get from the sun, it escapes and is lost. With such a high rate of energy loss, one really has to wonder if solar power is really an option for the masses.
Geothermal energy production
Good geothermal power production is a beast of power generators. Imagine taking a huge plug and sticking it straight into the Earth just like in the commercials. Well, that’s geothermal energy and it’s not only doable, we’re using it right this second. The biggest problem with this type of power is the potential problems it can cause when applied over a long period of time. Sucking energy directly from the Earth’s core might seem like a good idea at first, but who’s to say what that will do to our planet’s core and even more to our beautiful planet’s rotation. This option on our Alternative Energy Sources List needs further analysis, but initially the power output is excellent with unknown long-term risk to the masses.

Nuclear power production is impressive in its ability to provide massive amounts of power for the masses. Unlike the rest of the Different Energy Options, the problem with nuclear power is clear and it is a potential collapse. Many power plants, should a meltdown occur, have the damaging ability to destroy a radius of about 100 miles and kill everything in its path. With nuclear the power is unlimited; however, so is the destructive power that comes with it.

Wind power generation is really cool, but not really realistic for the masses. Given the correct configuration, a considerable amount of energy can be derived from harnessing the power of the wind, however, it is not enough to meet the energy needs of an average-sized community. Wind power is a more local power generation option than one for the masses.
Biomass power generation
Biomass power generation is one of the many different energy options that always makes me cringe. This type of energy on our Alternative Energy Sources List comes directly from the remains of organic life and yes, that means as much to you as it does to me. Organic life would actually make really good batteries, however there is some moral consideration for biomass power. When talking about plants and bacteria, moral thinking is minimal, but who knows where this would lead if we invested fully in biomass. Would some questionable nations use their own people to meet their power requirements like Yuri in Red Alert 2? This option is interesting and basically defines the generation of energy through algae.

Here is a wave, there is a wave; You would think that with so many waves roaming our oceans, the production of tidal energy would be obvious. Now while it is and does provide some important energy, what would happen to our natural ocean life if we started to change the flow of our oceans? Imagine it’s not hot in the Bahamas anymore all because we started altering our planet’s natural tides, or worse, what would tidal manipulation do to our moon?
Gravity Power Generation
Gravity Power Generation is a really very interesting concept that we haven’t heard about enough like the other different power options. Imagine being able to meet any and all power requirements simply by using gravity. You throw something into the air and when it lands again it’s fully charged and ready to go! We’re not sure what the current ranking is with Gravity Energy, but as we look into it and learn more, you can be sure we’ll offer it to you and the rest of our readers.

That’s a lot of information to glean from a list of alternative energy sources! These are just the different power options that we rounded up in a fairly brief investigation. We can only imagine what scientists are really trying to do behind closed doors and what they are tinkering with in the hope of making energy much less of a problem in the future.
From oil power generation to coal power generation, from solar power generation to nuclear power generation, from biomass power generation to gravity power generation; who knows where the man will get the power of him in the future. However, one thing is for sure and that is that the oil will eventually run out and we have to get down to business and do it RIGHT NOW! Wouldn’t you agree?
