For anyone who is a fan of snowmobiling and GPS devices, there is a rugged GPS mount made just for you! In addition to other types of GPS systems, it is a wonderful fit for the Garmin Nuvi. RAM seems to have solved some of the most troublesome issues faced by snowmobile riders who use, for example, a bike rack on their snowmobiles, and other such clever adaptations.

Usually these kinds of makeshift GPS mount apps don’t work because some of the extreme conditions common to snowmobiling are totally unrelated to bikes. As a result, our GPS device performs below optimal levels. We don’t often consider that possibility when we’re primed and ready to roll. However, it’s best to remember that GPS mounts tend to be specific to the device they were designed for. You will find very few crosses, if any, in this field.

Whether you want to mount the GPS PND (Personal Navigation Device) to your hip, your bike, motorcycle, snowmobile, Cessna Skyhawk, or your 40-foot catamaran, there’s a specific mount for the job. Getting the right GPS mount will save you hours of frustration while increasing the overall enjoyment of your boat and/or vehicle, recreational or otherwise. Trust me, I’ve been there.

For whatever reason, we don’t seem to mind spending significant sums on the latest GPS technology (and that’s a good thing), however, when it comes to the accessories developed to enhance our use of it, we back off and become the ” penny wise, pound foolish buyer”. The fact that accessories are sold separately does not mean that they are optional. When manufacturers use this à la carte system, it keeps the total cost of the main item low and allows us to customize the package to suit our individual and personal wearing style.
