The Miller Tig Welders cordless foot pedal will be welcomed by race car builders, 4130 chromoly airplane builders, tuna rig welders, and other tig welders who have to climb and crawl through a large welding project.

Years ago I welded the fuselage of an airplane kit out of 4130 chromoly tubing as a favor for a friend. I used a Miller Tig welder (a Miller Syncrowave 250), a small #wp 20 water cooled torch, and a corded foot pedal.

What a pain was it to drag that rope across the boom of that chromoly fuselage?

HAS wireless pedal It would have been really helpful.

From what I’ve heard, the Miller Tig Wireless pedal is going to be a bit pricey. It won’t be for every garage welder who just wants the latest cool toy.

However, it will be a welcome tool for certain welding shops that are interested in the safety feature of not having another cable to trip over.

Many of us have learned that if you work for a big company and you can use security as a legitimate reason to buy something, it’s a piece of cake.

Anyway, here’s the lowdown on the Miller Tig Wireless Foot Pedal:

  • it has a battery pack that contains 3 AA batteries so you can buy them at any store at 2 am if you need
  • feet that slide easily across the floor…but not too easily
  • a receiver unit that plugs directly into the canon socket where the old corded pedal went
  • really plug and play

A wireless pedal may not be on your shopping list, but you have to admit it…

It ranks very high in the “Cool Meter”.
