As hard as it is to believe, the start of the football season is less than two months away. NFL training camps start in just a few weeks and before you know it, the first kickoff of the year will be upon us. A football-themed party would be the perfect idea for anyone with a birthday in the near future who just can’t get enough of the action on the field. Putting on a pigskin extravaganza can be an easy way to score a touchdown with someone special.

Sending out exciting invites is the best pre-game routine to ensure your spree is a success. This can be an opportunity to be smart and play with the motif. One way to do this is to create tickets that look like tickets to the big game. Instead of the name of the teams playing, put who the event is for, and in the area where the seats would be, put the location of the venue. However, ticket-style invitations are not the only option. They can even be shaped like a soccer ball or perhaps modeled after a flyer promoting a long-awaited match.

The guest of honor will no doubt want their favorite team represented when it comes to their celebration décor. Whether you support the Chicago Bears or the Green Bay Packers, be sure to incorporate the team’s colors or logo. For example, hanging purple and yellow streamers for a Minnesota Vikings fan would be a great touch. Apart from adorning the wall with colors reminiscent of a football team, dressing the table with a tablecloth that looks like a field can be another good option. Life-size cutouts can add a sense of realism to a gathering, and that’s no more true than for one involving sports. Placing a cutout of a quarterback preparing to complete a pass, a running back coming in to score, or an umpire signaling a touchdown will make guests feel like they’re in Giants Stadium.

It wouldn’t be a sporting event without the right gastronomy. Popcorn, chips, peanuts, and other similar snacks are a must and should be placed in football-shaped bowls for added effect. If the logo or colors of a certain team are present in the decorations, the cutlery, plates and napkins must be coordinated accordingly.

Also, maybe you or your guests like to dress up for the occasion. Referee shirts or your favorite player’s shirt are one way to add a sense of action to your evening. Inflatable soccer balls can also do the trick. Not only will they provide an enhanced atmosphere, but partygoers can throw them as well.

Don’t forget to have a fantastic football-themed birthday party, as it’s a great way to fuse the excitement of game day with the allure of getting another year older. Call the right plays and it’s sure to be a hit with not only the attendees, but the birthday boy or girl as well.
