What some politically correct people call bias is actually just an observation of the real environment with Artificial Intelligence (AI). So what’s wrong with that? The AI used probability when making decisions, have you ever heard of that? Everyone should. If a human being does not take into account what he experiences in his environment to make his decisions, then it could be said; He is not smart.

There was an interesting article in Accelerating Intelligence, the Singularity Institute newsletter titled: “The Struggle to Make AI Less Biased than Its Creators” by Peter Rejcek, published on the Singularity Hub website. The article said:

“The dirty little secret is about artificial intelligence. No, not the one about the machines taking over the world. That one is old. This one is more insidious. Data scientists, AI experts and others have long suspected that would be a problem. AI is biased: sexism, ageism, racism, name an ism, and most likely the results produced by our machines are biased in one or more ways. But an emerging think tank called: ‘Diversity.AI’ believes that our machines can do better than their creators when it comes to breaking down stereotypes and other barriers to inclusion.”

Of course, this article comes from a left-wing socialist academic bias and point of view (POV) so we can take it for what it’s worth. Yes, the article provided numerous examples of AI results in the questions asked, and we all remember when Google’s image search AI labeled gorillas as black (African-American) humans, which is as racist as possible, but it was a plain mistake. due to measurement of nose size, head size, jaw bones, facial features, eye color, hair color, and skin color. Should we be offended? No, but maybe that FRT (Face Recognition Technology) AI algorithm needs to be worked on.

Besides true machine learning, you have to learn, which means making mistakes, having successes, and learning from them as you get “smarter”, right? The author of the article quoted above stated; “AI is prejudice; sexism, ageism, racism, name an ism”, well I guess they tell us so is Donald Trump and we elect him president, maybe we should elect an AI system to run the country in that case? Ah, I made you think, didn’t I?

Should we really be reprogramming the AI to be “Unintelligent Artificial” instead? Just like we’re fooling our society into believing that what they’re seeing is wrong, for a more politically correct version? I don’t think that is wise or intelligent. Maybe our AI is smarter than we think and we are the stupid ones pretending and living a lie from real and real observations? Maybe we can learn from AI to be better and smarter versions of ourselves. Celebrate diversity, never force it. Think about this.
