Uganda’s largest game park, Murchison Falls National Park offers a Ugandan safari experience that is better lived than told. It is untamed nature at its finest.

There is a lot to do in Murchison. Game viewing is usually held in the early morning. Bird watching can continue throughout the day. There is a boat ride to the bottom of the falls or the

Buligi Circuit, a peninsula between Victoria and Albert Niles, between Victoria and Albert Niles that has the highest concentration of wildlife and beautiful vegetation and a

variety of bird species, including the rare shoe-billed stork.

There are walks through the forest where one gets to see chimpanzees. Bush camping is the ultimate experience of real

desert. After the Gorilla Safari in Bwindi, the Murchison Falls safari seems to be the second best option for your trip to Uganda.

When you go on safari, the day starts at 7 am The first thing that greets you is the breathtaking landscape of the park, an undulating landscape that stretches before your eyes and disappears into the horizon with savannah vegetation and tropical jungle. One by one our eyes feasted on a variety of game animals, antelope, buffalo, rothschild giraffe, elephant and buffalo, warthog, antelope and many others.

Some animals appear unexpectedly, others run into the bushes at the sight of vehicles, others like giraffes just pose for the camera until you can’t take any more photos. Difficult to detect is the

lion and leopard. Most of the small animals will not be seen in the tall bushes as they want to avoid surprise attacks from the giants.

The boat ride is the highlight of the Murchison experience, where one catches a variety of wildlife safari animals from the comfort of the boat and a cool breeze that must be taken generously while it lasts. A variety of animals including hippos, large crocodiles basking in the sun, buffalo, antelope and elephants graze on the banks and have to drink from the water.

Bird lovers are in for a special treat, the wide variety of birds that can be spotted here include the tiny Malachite Kingfisher, herons, carmine bee-eater, African fish eagle, saddle

the white-billed stork, or the shoe-billed stork, all of which can be easily seen along the water’s edge. Most of the tourists who go on bird watching safaris in Uganda usually make a trip to Murchison.

The view of the falls from a distance is amazing. Due to the powerful force with which the water falls, there is a large foam and cloudy mist floating in the air. Murchison Falls is

powerful, with a deafening magical roar. This can only be the work of the supernatural.

The water gushes mightily through a narrow rocky passage and foamy waters rush into the gorge.

Having seen the falls from the bottom, it’s only fair that you get an even better view and get close enough to feel the water adjust to your face and that’s when you understand why the water is protected.

The area is named after the falls. Rainbows across the falls and rippling waters should be an amazing final treat.

Murchison Falls National Park is the largest national park in Uganda, covering 3,840 square kilometres. It is covered by untamed African savannah and is traversed by the Nile River. Accommodation is

available in two luxury safari lodges, a luxury tented camp and basic accommodation or even camping is allowed in select areas.
