Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are officially revealed. There will be a lot of comparisons and reviews and you may change your mind several times before deciding to buy one. Judging by the information gathered from both events, we decided to do our comparison version.

Hardware

Both game consoles use almost the same hardware specifications inside their bodies. The only difference is in the type of RAM. The PS4 uses GDDR5 8 GB of RAM and the Xbox One uses 8 GB of DDR3 RAM.

PS4’s GPU could perform 50% better than Xbox One. With faster graphics memory, you’ll get a better gaming experience on PS4. Xbox One gave better graphics in real time.

controllers

Both controllers have been redesigned and look better than their predecessors.

The PS4 controller includes a clickable touchpad, which will give developers better options when designing a game. On the front, you can see the light bar that activates the motion controller placed on the PS4. From here, the Eye camera tracks the position of the controller and makes some adjustments during multiplayer gameplay. To achieve this, Xbox One uses the help of Kinect and automatically tracks the person holding the controller. PS4 controller has share button, headphone jack and speaker.

To connect the controller, Xbox One uses Wi-Fi Direct while PS4 uses Bluetooth 2.1. Xbox One leads this round, because Wi-Fi Direct uses 250 Mbps and Bluetooth 2.1 uses a maximum speed of 3 Mbps.

Voice and motion control

The Xbox One will be “on” all the time and you just need to say “Xbox On” and the machine is ready to play. Signing in to your account has never been easier because Xbox one uses facial recognition to do it. Sony has announced that its camera will have a similar facial recognition feature.

Price and availability

We can expect the Xbox One to launch in November for a price of $499. The PS4 will be available on the market just before the holidays for $399. If you choose the PS4 over the Xbox One, in 2014 you’ll get cloud gaming service. This will offer you a catalog of PS3 games that are compatible with PS4. It seems that PlayStation 4 will be the best option because Microsoft has no plans for its game console.

Other features

The Xbox One does not offer used games and requires registrations to play a game. PS4 users can play offline games for as long as they want.

Although PS4 turned out to be the better console in this battle, let’s test Xbox to see which gaming experience we liked best.
